Keep Our Licenses

As someone that worked a full-time job while going to beauty school, I find it absurd that there is even the thought of eliminating licensing for cosmetologists. We are professionals who have paid our dues and have worked just as hard as other professions that aren’t slated for the same treatment. What’s next, therapists, Dentists? Where does it end.

We must band together to voice our determination to keep our licenses and not turn over our hard-earned profession to just anyone needing a job without earning a license or a certificate. There is strength in numbers. CCA was the first to rally for licensing as well as monitoring legislation of our profession. We still monitor and rally today!

Below are links to a couple of articles noting the intent of legislators to do away with cosmetology license. These are easily found online simply by entering “Eliminating cosmetology license” in your search window. The articles are endless and include several states already.

Join us in standing for our right to keep our license, and insuring that our careers remain professional and prestigious.

Missouri Lawmakers want to eliminate cosmetology license requirement.

Indiana senate approves bill that could eliminate a dozen occupational licenses.

Many of us have done well by this industry and it’s time that we stand up and defend it.

Thank You,
